It was amazing to see how my mother only found rest to your RESPITE CD in her final days.  Thank you for creating work that honored and soothed her pain.

"HOW DO WE GET THESE KIDS TO SLEEP?"

That was the question posed by the staff at an East Coast Child Psychiatric Unit.  These children were ages 6-14 and most had been abused sexually.  Bedtime was ‘scarytime’.  When the staff would try to round up the kids to prepare for bed, they had a monumental fight on their hands and it was not pretty.

We recommended they play LULLABIES OF LATIN AMERICA (LOLA) about 10-15 minutes before bedtime.  The staff and children were calmed and found the music nurturing and peaceful. They enjoyed falling asleep to the beautiful sound of Maria Del Rey’s voice singing lullabies in Spanish and English.

We checked back with the staff after a few weeks and they reported ‘miraculous’ results.  The children would hear the music and prepare for bed with little coaxing from the staff.

WOW!! The staff was so impressed that they recommended that the children's parents get the CD and play it for them at home to help the children transition back into home life.

LULLABIES FOR PIT BULLS?

When we first introduced LOLA to various music industry people, we happened to meet a very, very intense entertainment attorney.  This guy was a pit bull in street clothes…..a nice guy, but INTENSE.  I’ll never forget a follow-up meeting we had.  I walk into his office and he’s got a boombox propped up on a phone book at ear level behind him.  He’s playing LOLA in ‘repeat’ mode…..heavy rotation!

“This music is great!  It keeps me calm.  You know this music works for adults too.”

Well if ever there was a guy who could use a little help keeping calm…….

LOLA was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award, and has won numerous other awards including the Parent’s Choice GOLD Award.  Maria Del Rey’s mission is to use her music and voice to nurture families.  The many awards this classic recording has garnered are a sure measure that Maria has fulfilled her mission.  I (James) was very fortunate to have the opportunity to arrange the music on this wonderful recording and to work with some very talented musicians.

INCLUDES ENGLISH AND SPANISH VERSIONS

If you don’t speak Spanish, you’ll be lulled into a deeply restful state with the music and voice.  The songs are also recorded in English so you won’t miss out on the beauty of these songs.  If you are a Spanish-speaker you will be charmed by Maria’s beautiful, interpretations that talented musicians and exquisite arrangements.

BOREDOM NOT SUNG HERE

LOLA is not one of those archival library recordings.  You know what I mean... nice moms singing authentically out of tune.

LULLABIES OF LATIN AMERICA is a classic and masterpiece of artistic expression from a world class artist who is recognized as an international cultural ambassador.   Maria Del Rey draws upon the rich cultural heritage of Latin America with a unique vision to nurture and empower children and families.

You and those you care for will benefit from having LOLA in your arsenal of music tools to relieve pain and anxiety.  LOLA is wonderfully effective with kids from the age of 'pre-kid' to 92+.
